How does Thermage FLX work?
Thermage FLX™ skin tightening uses radio frequency to gently heat the deep dermis layer of skin responsible for collagen production. It works to tighten existing collagen and stimulate new collagen production, resulting in a smoother, firmer and more youthful complexion.
When can I expect visible results?
Results are visible after two to six months following a single treatment and can last for several years depending on your skin condition and natural ageing process. Regular treatments will help to maintain results.
What does the Thermage treatment feel like?
When the Thermage device is applied, you will feel a brief warming sensation to target those deep, collagen-rich layers of your skin. This is followed by a soothing, cooling sensation that will keep your skin cool and protected while also minimising any discomfort.
How many treatments do I need and what is the downtime?
One of the biggest draw cards of the Thermage Skin Tightening treatment is that only one treatment is required, and downtime is minimal. For some clients, a bi-annual Thermage session is enough to maintain superior skin health, however it is always best to follow your technician’s treatment frequency recommendations.
Who is not suitable for Thermage FLX treatment
Anyone who:
- Is pregnant or breastfeeding
- Is under the age of 18
- Is a chronic user of anti-inflammatories or corticosteroids
- Has a pacemaker, defibrillator, implanted electronic device or ICD
- Is severely obese or whose weight fluctuates significantly
- Has poor skin quality including severe sun damage and elastosis
- Is allergic to amethocaine or local anaesthetic
- Is currently being treated with sulphonamides
- Has poor fibroblast response

Is there any post-treatment care needed?
There is no special care needed after this treatment and most clients can return to their regular activities immediately, however we recommend avoiding direct sunlight and wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
